Unmanaged VPS Support Scope

Unmanaged VPS means you control the operating system and software stack. Our support is limited to the infrastructure and platform layer.

What Shika supports

  • Provisioning, billing, basic power controls, and access to the VPS console where available.
  • Upstream infrastructure coordination for hardware, hypervisor, or network-level incidents.
  • Reasonable guidance on platform features such as snapshots, reinstall, rescue mode, firewall tooling, reverse DNS, and invoices.

What remains the customer's responsibility

  • Server administration, package installation, application deployment, patching, and OS hardening.
  • Firewall design, SSH security, monitoring, backups, and disaster recovery.
  • Debugging your application code, databases, mail setup, third-party integrations, or compromised software.

Self-service actions and risk

Workspace actions such as reinstall, snapshot rollback, rescue mode, null route changes, or VNC credential resets are self-service infrastructure tools. Customers are responsible for understanding the impact before use, especially where downtime, lockout, or data loss is possible.

No managed service implied

Unless we state otherwise in writing for a separate engagement, customers should assume VPS plans do not include server management, migrations, patching, monitoring, or backup administration.
